Enrollment and Fees
Important Dates – No classes are held during these days, school breaks, and holidays
School Breaks and Holidays
- Important Note: There are ten (10) monthly installments (see “Class Tuition” tables above for monthly
installment amount) that make up the annual tuition. Each installment does not pay for any particular month
but rather contribute to the tuition for the whole school year. Therefore, holidays/shutdowns do not affect the
installment amount.
- The first and the last monthly installments are due at the time of registration. The remaining 8 installments are
due the First day of each month starting October through May.
- New Student Registration Fee (non-refundable): $50. Welcome, new students! If you are interested in
enrolling in a class, please call Ms. Rachel at (510) 656-0920. A Try-Out Class may need to be scheduled.
This will allow Ms. Rachel to observe the student's abilities and determine the appropriate class level
placement. Try-out Class fee is $18 per each lesson hour and must be pre-approved by the staff.
- Continuing Student Registration Fee (non-refundable): $25. Registration fee may be waived if the student
remained enrolled through the end of the previous school year or enrolled for Summer 2009 AND registers on
or before June 6, 2009 Saturday
- Registration Form – Please print, complete and sign the Fall/Spring Registration Form (Adobe PDF File)
- A late charge of $10.00 will be billed if monthly installments are not received by the tenth of the month.
- A $25 processing fee is charged for all returned checks.
- Late Enrollment or Early Withdrawal: A month’s notice is required for withdrawal. The tuition is prorated based
on the number of lessons in the school year.
- No credit or refund is given for illness, trips out of town or other absences. The school’s expenses continue.
Students can make up classes as available.
- Classes cancelled by the studio will be rescheduled.
- Try-out class fee is $18 per each lesson hour (must be pre-approved by staff).
- Private lessons per half hour: $45 for Solo; $40 each student for Duet; $30 each student for Trio, $25 each
student for Group. Payment for private lessons is due at the time of the lesson. For all private lessons
arranged with the instructors or the director, 24-hour notice of cancellation is required. If 24-hour notice of
cancellation is not received, your account will be charged for the private lesson.
- Family Plan Discounts available. No discounts for Honor classes. Discounts may apply to Contemporary and
Jazz/Hip Hop classes
- Annual Recital: Each student or family is responsible for purchasing four (4) tickets and the costs of his/her
own costumes. Please read our Recital web page to learn more about the Annual Recital requirements.
- RAD Exams: Annual Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Examinations are optional, but are highly recommended.
RAD Exam and pianist fees are extra for students who participate in the exams. Please read our RAD Exams
web page to learn more about the exam requirements.
- Drop Boxes are located in each studio lobby for check payments, registration forms and comments.

- Picture Day: May 4, 2010 - Tuesday, at Rachel's Ballet, MV - Mission Valley Studio (At Las Palmas & Mission
Blvd) - Recital Preparation Days: May 26 & 27, 2010 - Wednesday & Thursday, at Rachel’s Ballet Studio
- Dress Rehearsal: May 28, 2010 - Friday, 4:00pm – 9:00pm, at Jackson Theater (inside the Smith Center),
Ohlone College - Annual Recital: May 29, 2010 - Saturday, 5:00pm (Tentative Time) at Jackson Theater (inside the Smith
Center), Ohlone College - Classes may be affected (~2 or 3 days) during Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exams which typically take
place in April. Actual dates will be announced upon notification from RAD. Make up classes will be arranged
for students affected by the exams.
School Breaks and Holidays
- Thanksgiving Break: (Revised Date) November 23, 2009 - Monday through November 28, 2009 - Saturday
- Winter Break: December 21, 2009 - Monday through January 2, 2010 - Saturday
- Spring Break: (Revised Date) April 5, 2010 - Monday through April 10, 2010 - Saturday
- Memorial Day: May 31, 2010 - Monday
